Decentraland is a VR platform with growing popularity where users can, not only purchase and sell plots of virtual land, but also use it as a foundation to create different interactive experiences, services, and content on their parcels. Advertised as the first-ever virtual world owned by its users, the digital land is divided into individual plots of LAND, and each parcel is represented by an NFT. There are 90,601 parcels/NFTs, loosely grouped into districts with different themes, the biggest one being cyberpunk-themed Aetheria.

The users can navigate, create and develop their piece of Decentraland into anything they wish, and let other community members explore incredible 3D scenes, structures, artworks, challenges, and interactive games. 

Later, the LAND holders can choose to generate income in various ways: by selling and creating virtual goods on the Decentraland marketplace (such as avatar wearables or names) or by trading and renting their parcel or advertising space using metaverse crypto.
